To keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, I will be working online exclusively for the indefinite future. I know online sessions can be tough for some—especially when connecting with a new person—so here are some of my best tips for getting the most out of them:
Find a private, quiet space where you won’t be interrupted by housemates
Use a laptop if you have access to one – if not, try to prop your phone up to avoid having to hold it for an hour!
Create a comforting space for yourself. This might include nice lighting, smells, tissues nearby, comfortable clothing, fidget toys, water, or tea
The stronger the WiFi the better, and personal WiFi tends to be better than public
Doing therapy in your home can be a different experience, so we can work together to come up with some unique-to-you strategies for taking care of yourself before and after sessions
